American Art Deco charcoal and black and white chalk drawing of a nude woman, created by Major Felten in the 1930s. The piece depicts a nude woman in a sensuous pose, seated within over-sized hands and is signed by the artist in the lower right corner.
Major Felten (1904-1975) was an American visual artist and illustrator, active in the 1930s-1950s. He became famous for his dramatic posters and book illustrations. Some of his posters were subsequently published by Davis Blue Artwork, a company founded by Robert Blue and Brian Davis.
It has become increasingly impossible to find an original artwork of Felten. This unique piece comes with its original frame and is in remarkable vintage condition with age-appropriate wear and use.
